The annual Staff & Sixth Form Pantomime…Beauty and the Beast, performed to packed audiences on Friday and Saturday night and everyone agreed it was the funniest show to date! Two fairies, a princess, the traditional villain, and a very camp dame all contributed to a lot of laughter and ‘Oh no he didn’t Oh yes he did fun ‘ A colourful set design by Head of Art Ashley Barlow and first class direction by Head of Sixth Form Eleanor Bearpark ensured a successful two nights. A special mention to Karen Purdew who choreographed the Rugby 1st XV in a very funny interpretation of ‘ The Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairy’! |

Twenty-five
Year 6 pupils recently travelled to Torbay to spend a week at PGL, Barton
Hall, and what a week it was! An action packed time full of thrills and
fun as the children tested their bravery and determination. Their day
started at 7.30am and finished at 9pm and the children were entertained
non-stop. Among the highlights was the giant swing where the children
were hauled up fifteen metres before being dropped to the accompaniment
of screams. The trapeze was another to excite, where two of them actually
did it blindfolded! The instructor said that was a first. Other activities
included the longest zip wire ever, fencing, archery, abseiling, quad
bikes, mountain bikes, survivor, sensory trail, camp fire and many more.
The week finished off with a disco which the children thought was the
best disco ever. So all in all a great time was had, and no, we can’t
go again next week. Bev Harman Head of Junior School

On Friday 25th September we held our annual Macmillan Coffee Morning. All parents, pupils andgovernors were invited to attend the event and it was well attended. Once again we had a well stocked cake stall all donated by parents, staff and pupils. We also had a raffle, pin the tail on the donkey and a smack the rat stall. There was a silhouette of Mr Barnes, the Headmaster, and pupils had to guess how many smarties ‘filled’ him. There was tea and coffee on sale and also an ice cream float stall run by Mrs Purdew. The students enjoyed participating in the games and particularly enjoyed the delicious cakes. Through all the activities we managed to raise a fantastic £600. |

On Sunday 1st March, 22 sixth form students, Mrs Farrell, Deputy Head and Mr Ashford, Head of Business Studies, set off from school in the early hours on a 3 day visit to Disneyland Paris. Contrary to popular opinion this was a study trip and not just-a-jolly, but there was a bit of enchantment about it all. More... |
