Northam annual Panto at the Methodist Hall!! 7.00pm It will be great fun as we are doing Robinson Crusoe. Rev Paul Martin is the lead Dame and boy is he over the top and not at all like a man of the cloth...(in the performance at least) I play the part of a gorilla....not much of a costume needed there!!

Public Meeting. Shebbear College 7pm, Please make this date to fight the proposed closure of our local post office. PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE

Guests will include Geoffrey Cox MP in the chair. We also have Tim Nickolls from Post Office Ltd who will answer questions, and alongside them a lady from Postwatch, who's brief is to ensure that POL have followed their brief from Central Government and check that they are playing fair. We might also have Des Shadrick as our County Councillor.

Please have prepared your questions and objections ready in advance in order to ensure that we can make the best possible argument on the night.

Summer Fayre, Shebbear College 1.30pm onwards, various attractions and events including live music through to the early hours of Sunday morning. This is a traditional country Fayre with side shows, craft and trade stands etc.

Shebbear and Buckland Filleigh History Society Annual General Meeting, Parish Room 7.00 pm, agenda includes Annual Report, Financial Report and Election of Officers.

7.30 pm, in the Parish Room Regular Meeting: Paul Mason will talk about the history of St Michaels' Church, Shebbear, and of the Parish Room. Tea coffee and biscuits will be provided afterwards.

United Gift Service at Lake Chapel when everyone brings gifts for children/teenagers

Men’s breakfast at the Devil’s Stone Inn, Shebbear. 8.30 p.m. Contact Martin Warren 281424 Ladies Breakfast in the Church Room 8.30 p.m. Contact Pat Kirby 281148 Booking for both is essential – otherwise no food!

The Archbishop of Canterbuy is celebrating and preaching at a Euacharist on the Cathedral Green in Exeter. Lunch will be available from 1.00 p.m. In the afternoon there will be a multi-media and interactive children’s celebration in the Bishop’s Palace Garden from 3.-4.30 p.m. Songs of Praise led by Judi Spiers will take place on the Cathedral Green from 5.15 p.m. Followed by an evening concert.

This is a big day for Christians in Devon and there will be a coach from Shebbear – if anyone would like to join us then ring Martin Warren on 01409 281424 or David wheeler on 01409 281262.

Shebbear & Buckland Filleigh Flower Show, Shebbear village hall. Car boot sale, bingo, dog show, Torrington Silver Band, static motorcycle and cycle display, motorcycle trials display. Doors open 2pm. Official opening 2.15pm by Mrs Rosemary Wedlake. 8pm Dance the night away to the sounds Muddy River Band and Rock 'n' Roll Phil. Tickets £5 each.

Shebbear Village Harvest Supper with entertainment by The Freeborn Men. This is a village harvest celebration so do come and join in for good food and music. Tickets £5.00 and donation to Farm Africa
